The First
Lutheran School
has proudly served children in Glendale
and the surrounding areas since the early 1970s. Since their founding, they
have become one of the most prestigious Christian centered private schools in Burbank. The school is an active
member of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association and the WorldStrides
program. The WorldStrides program gives middle school students the opportunity
to travel to New York, Washington
D.C., Sacramento, and other important U.S. landmarks
in order to expand their understanding of their own country. The school
occupies two main concrete buildings with an attached gymnasium, a total of
over 9000 square feet of learning space. The First Lutheran
School currently has over
13,000 books available to its students.
Michelle Goetsch, principal of The First
Lutheran School, graduated Summa Cum Laude from California Lutheran
University. She was an
active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church for 20 years, where she served
as a Sunday Church School
Director and a member of the church council. Michelle has a deep appreciation
for the individual needs of each child, and believes that the faith journey of every student will get a
strong start with a private education within the cultural diversity of The
First Lutheran School in Burbank.
